In today's globalized world, it is essential to be familiar with the legal framework on the international stage. Germany alone has 9 immediate neighboring countries with industrial centers in all directions close to the country's borders. The EU internal market has indeed made market entry and freedom of movement much easier with regard to its Maastricht Treaty and its 4 fundamental freedoms. However, this should not obscure the fact that a legal and regulatory combination model of national and European regulations applies in all EU member states: Wherever no regulations have been issued at EU level (e.g. the DSGVO / GDPR), national law applies directly.
